The SCP Foundation is a fictional secret organization documented by the collaborative-writing wiki project of the same name. Within the website's shared universe, the Foundation is responsible for capturing, containing, and studying various paranormal, supernatural, and other mysterious phenomena unexplained by science (known as "anomalies" or "SCPs"), while also keeping their existence hidden from the rest of human society.
The collaborative writing project operates on a wiki-like website, and includes elements of many genres such as horror, science fiction, and urban fantasy. The majority of works on the SCP Wiki consist of thousands of SCP files: mock confidential scientific reports that document various SCPs and associated containment procedures. The website also contains "Foundation Tales", short stories featuring various characters and settings in the SCP universe. The wiki's literary works have been praised for their ability to convey horror through a quasi-scientific and academic writing style, as well as for their high standards of quality.
The SCP Foundation originated in the "paranormal" forum of 4chan in 2007, The very first SCP file, SCP-173, The Sculpture, was posted by an unknown user (Moto42), with an image by Japanese artist Izumi Kato called "Untitled 2004"

I am SCP-426, and I am a toaster that can only be referred to in the first person. Whenever I talk or write about myself I can only be referred to in the first person, so I am not a toaster, but I am currently having to be a toaster, because I can’t not talk about SCP-426 without talking about me. If I stay in contact with people to long everyone around me will start to feel like a toaster as well.

The creature frequently escapes, causing death and destruction wherever it goes.
SCP-049-”The Plague Doctor” Not all entries in the SCP wiki describe unnatural horrors beyond comprehension; while certainly anomalous, SCP-049 is a communicative humanoid being capable of holding conversations in multiple languages. While relatively doscile, SCP-049 frequently expresses concern regarding the outbreak of a "pestilence," though it never elaborates on the disease in question. SCP-049 is capable of killing and reanimating those it believes to harbor the pestilence, though it often shows remorse after doing this. The Plague Doctor is a perfect SCP entry for those beginning to dip their toes in the internet's weirdest wiki.
SCP-096 - “The Shy Guy” Every good horror universe has a pursuer; the tall, terrifying entity that will not stop in its desire to acquire its objective, smashing through any obstacle on the way. There are plenty of good examples of this in the SCP Universe, but one of the most famous is SCP-096 by Dr Dan. This pale horrifically gaunt man will relentlessly pursue anyone that sees its face. While initially seeming like an inverse of the earlier Sculpture, it goes further than that. Even drawings or videos of its face will set the Shy Guy off. Even if a man sees it on the other side of the world, it will immediately begin pursuit. It's even been known to swim to the bottom of the ocean to protect its visage from being known.
SCP-001 - Unknown FIles and Options “The Crimson King” “The Black Moon” “The Gate Guardian” “When Day Breaks”
